8 Reasons To Love Frankincense Essential Oil
Frankincense is one of the most versatile products in the essential oil industry. It fights, disinfects, regulates, calms and improves. From health to beauty, there is a benefit for nearly everyone. Here are some of the ways frankincense can help you.
- Stress reliever: Put a few drops in your bath water at the end of the day and have a relaxing soak. Frankincense brings out feelings of peace, satisfaction, and can even increase your spiritual connection. Allow it to open yourself up to calmness and relief. No time for a bath? Sprinkle a few drops on the back of your neck or behind your ears for the same effect.
- Oral health: Frankincense can be made into a toothpaste with baking soda and water, or as a mouthwash when added to water and peppermint. It fights bad breath, cold sores, toothaches and cavities. Make your smile the best it can be with frankincense.
- Ease period pain: It’s hard to feel beautiful when your stomach is wrestling with the Red Devil. Rub some frankincense on your belly to calm cramps and regulate your mood swings. It can also help prolong the arrival of menopause.
- Scar or wound remedy: Whether you suffer from stretch marks, acne, surgical scars or eczema, the same oil will work for all these issues: frankincense. Just add a drop or two on the needed area, and let the oil do its magic.
- Strengthener: If you have weak nails or thin hair, frankincense can cure those, too! It can even remove dandruff and make your hair shinier. Rub into your nail beds to strengthen them, or make this mixture to combat hair loss:
- Warm up ¼ cup of coconut oil.
- Add 2 drops of frankincense, 3 drops of rosemary and 2 drops of cypress. Mix well.
- Section off your hair and pour directly onto scalp.
- Leave on overnight and rinse in the morning.
- Prevents premature aging: Too soon for wrinkles? Use frankincense to take back your youthful glow. Either apply directly to your face, or other wrinkly area, or make this handy night cream:
- Melt ¼ cup of shea butter and 1 tbsp of coconut oil in a pot.
- Stir in 5-10 drops of frankincense, 4 drops of geranium and 2 drops of lavender.
- Place in fridge until fully solidified (about an hour).
- Immediately whip the mixture with beater until creamy. Store in a clean jar.
- Health benefits: Frankincense works as an anti-infectant, so keep it with your first aid kit and use when you have a wound or burn. It also boosts your immune system during the cold months. Apply a drop to your wrists or feet daily for it to reduce fevers and headaches. Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, it can be used as a natural cure for arthritis. Finally, frankincense has been known to fight cancer cells.
- Skin softener: When the weather turns cold, our skin dries out. Frankincense to the rescue, yet again. It works as a natural moisturizer. Apply directly, or add a few drops to some coconut or grapeseed oil and spread on the needed areas. Your skin will feel baby-smooth in no time.
