This is my idea of a perfect fall day: Getting to wear cute and comfy sweaters as the temperature dips into the low 60s and curling up with a delicious cup of hot cocoa while I watch reruns of Stranger Things. It’s obvious that fall is my favorite season of all time. If I’m totally honest, one of the best things about fall is the excuse to stock up on cozy sweaters and rock even more floral print.
There were many interesting fall fashion trends that debuted on the runway this year. If you’re looking for fall style inspiration, look no further. Here are the top fall must-haves you need to incorporate into your closet.
1. Floral Everything
Full disclosure: My fall wardrobe is pretty much the same as my summer wardrobe but with extra layers added. In fact, most of my closet is filled with floral dresses and shirts. This works out perfectly because floral patterned clothes are a major staple for fall. Opt for darker florals in burgundy, purple and mustard for a true autumn-inspired bouquet. You can also add a sweet contrast by pairing a lighter floral patterned outfit with darker colored outerwear. This way, you’ll be able to rock this pattern all year long!
2. Shades of Red
With its rich color and flattering qualities, it’s no surprise that red is one of the most popular colors for fall. It’s the easiest color to dress up or down. If you want to make a statement at work, wear a burgundy dress, pencil skirt or blouse. It’s also the perfect color for date night!
3. Ruffle Sleeves
You’ve probably noticed that ruffles are slowly taking over your Instagram feed. Ruffle sleeves may look tricky to pull off at first but it’s all about finding a style that matches your personality while still complimenting your body type. Trust us, the right ruffle can take a bland look to the next level. Start with a flutter sleeve shirt with a tiny ruffle before graduating to a more gravity defying look!
4. Athleisure
Athletic wear is no longer something you wear to the gym or when you’re running errands. There’s something sexy about wearing athleisure to brunch or on a casual date. One athleisure trend that is currently taking over the runway is high, zip-up necklines. Copy this look by wearing a minidress with this sexy neckline.
5. Blush Palette
Dusty pink colored tops and bottoms are huge this fall. The best part is that this shade is flattering on all skin tones, is very easy to pull off and can most likely be found in your favorite stores! I love how simple but gorgeous this color is. You can also incorporate the color blocking trend by pairing a blush top with a burgundy skirt.
6. High Waisted, Wide Leg Trousers

This just in: Your work wardrobe doesn’t have to be boring. Instead of your usual trousers, try wearing one with wide legs and a high waist. You’re guaranteed to turn heads with this stylish silhouette without being too over the top.
