Aging is a reality every girl has to face one day or another — guys too — and it gets really expensive trying to fight back against wrinkles. Store-bought moisturizers can easy run $20 or more, with the higher quality brands being exponentially worse!
Our advise is to stop buying those and to make this easy homemade moisturizer instead, which is great for body and face. If you have 5 minutes you can do this, and you’ll be so much happier with it than anything you buy in the store.
Coconut Oil
This is the moisturizing powerhouse ingredient in our recipe, but it also has anti fungal, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, so it should also work on clearing any problem blemishes.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is great for reducing the appearance of scars and other imperfections, whether they are caused by trauma or acne. It is also going to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Lavender Oil
It smells divine and is terrifically soothing. It also has some detoxing capabilities, which is why it is our preferred choice. If you prefer another scent, like citrus, you can definitely swap it out. The vitamin C in a citrus oil will also work to brighten your skin, for a healthy summer glow.
Ingredients
*Note, it’s always best to go for high-quality, organic ingredients whenever possible.
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons liquid vitamin E
- 10 drops lavender essential oil
- Small mason jar for mixing, or container of choice.
Directions
- Place your coconut oil in the mason jar.
- Place the mason jar in a container of warm water until it melts, add the vitamin E and lavender oil, and whisk with a fork.
That’s it. You’re done. Super simple and all-natural.
