Every time we go to buy lipstick and lip gloss we see those tempting tubes of lip plumper, think about how we’d love full lips like Angelina Jolie, reach for it, then gasp at the price. With starting prices at $19 all the way up to $40, it’s hard to justify the purchase. Thankfully we’ve discovered a DIY lip plumper that can be applied every night for long-lasting full lips. Your wallet will thank you, and your lips will be better off with this more natural lip plumper alternative.
Before you apply the lip plumper, coat your lips with lip balm. Most lip plumpers are likely to burn, so if your lips are dry or cracked avoid this product. This particular version has cayenne pepper and cinnamon, both of which leave a bite, so start off with a small amount and work your way toward full lip coverage.
Here’s how to make the DIY Cayenne and Cinnamon Lip Plumper.
- 3 tbsp petroleum jelly
- 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tbsp cayenne
- Optional: add a 1/2 tsp of sea salt if you wish to have a lip scrub.
- Add the petroleum jelly, cinnamon, and cayenne into a container and mix well. Add the sea salt as well if you wish.
- Apply in small doses at first every night after applying lip balm. Gradually increase the amount of plumper you apply until you are completely covering your lips.
