We all know how hard it can be to apply fake lashes every day. To make our lives easier, we have eyelash extensions that add volume to the lashes. Eyelash extensions are the new beauty addition for women who wish to have long and thick lashes. The lashes look natural, and you will require way less makeup while getting ready in the morning. What Are Lash Extensions?

Lash extensions are thin fibers that look like real eyelashes. These are separately attached between individual lashes to give your natural eyelashes a fuller look. They look fantastic and are very comfortable to wear. Your eyes will not feel agitated with extensions as they do with false lashes.

What Are They Made Of?

Most eyelash extensions are made of mink, synthetic silk, and synthetic hair. Many women believe mink lashes to be the most comfortable as they are lightweight and look natural. However, they are the most expensive. On the other hand, synthetic hair is more affordable, but they are a bit thick and heavier on the eyes. Fine synthetic silk extensions are a happy medium and they hold curl well and are relatively light.

How Do Lash Extensions Work?

Eyelash extensions are applied based on your natural eyelash color, length, and eye shape. Any drastic color and volume change is not recommended as it may weigh down your eyes. This procedure should always be done by a professional technician to ensure safety.

After deciding the shape and length of the lashes, the technician will place a pad under your eyelids. This will protect your eyes during the process. With the help of a tweezer, the technician will place an individual or cluster of lashes between your real lashes. This is done one millimeter above the root. The lashes stick to the skin with professional glue that is water-proof and safe for the eyes.

How Long Do They Last?

Depending on the growth cycle of your natural lashes, most lash extensions last anywhere from four to six weeks. Though the extensions do fall off unevenly at times. To fix this, you may get touch-ups every three weeks to keep your lashes looking full. You may also use a special eyelash conditioner to make them last longer.

Can You Make Lash Extensions Last Longer?

Your eyelash technician may tell you to avoid getting your new lashes wet for the first forty-eight hours after application. This is to prevent the glue from becoming wet. It’s also advised to skip using any oil-based skincare and makeup products. The oils break down the glue faster, and your lashes will fall off.

Also use a water-based mascara such as this Classic Everyday Mascara instead of a waterproof one. At the end of the day, remove your makeup with a light eyelash extension shampoo to ensure your lashes stay intact for longer.
