Jean Jacket outfits

A Jean jacket has long been a staple in any woman’s wardrobe. Regardless of personal style, size, and color of a jacket, we have all painstakingly looked and hopefully found a perfect jean jacket to add to our clothing collection.

A Brief History

The denim jacket came to fruition in Japan during the 1800s. It was a part of a uniform their firefighters wore. Even though not very practical, it bore symbols to encourage bravery.

In the late 1800s, denim jackets appeared in France as work clothes, which were used to differentiate a superior from the employees. Jean jackets progressed during the Industrial Revolution. As workers got more influence, denim jackets have become a widely worn type of attire. Jean jackets, as we know them, were brought to life by Levi – who still has clout in the denim industry today.

In 1919 denim jackets became an official uniform of the US Army and the US Navy. This trend continued up until the end of WWII and only then was they replaced by other types of uniforms.

Only in 1951 did jean jackets made its appearance as a fashion staple. When a prominent American singer Bing Crosby was banned from entering a Canadian hotel due to his denim jacket, Levi made a special present for the singer; a tuxedo made of denim. After that, the trend only progressed until it became such a staple in every wardrobe as it is now.
