It’s Monday, which means we’ll take any bit of advice to make the day a little easier. Luckily we have makeup to brighten up our faces when we’re not actually feeling so thrilled to begin the work week. So long weekend, and so long energy. Not only does makeup do wonders for our overall look, but lipstick really takes makeup to the next level. We could have the prettiest eye and face makeup in the world, but without a bold, matte pout, we are reaching our greatest potential. In the wise words of Mindy Kaling, “Sometimes you just have to put on lip gloss and pretend to be psyched.” What she’s really getting at is that good lips equal an extra boost of power that we can’t get from anywhere else. Mindy isn’t the only one who understands the importance of lips, Elizabeth Taylor once said, “Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick, and pull yourself together.” So if you haven’t caught our drift yet, having a perfect pout will make your Monday oh so better.
We have the secret to flawless lips and it will only take you a second to do. First, apply your lipstick as usual and use lip liner if you wish. A little concealer on the base will keep the color on your lips longer too. Finally, apply concealer around the outer edges of your lips and blend it out into your face makeup so there are no obvious lines. The concealer will get rid of that annoying blur between your lips and your skin and it will sharpen the edges to make your lipstick much more powerful. There you have it! Now go face this Monday like a boss.
