Runny nose, fever, chills, and a cough. Nothing is worse than feeling sick when you actually have to be a person and get things done. How are you supposed to attack the day when you’re feeling like you got run over by a bus? When you’re feeling like this, putting yourself together a least a little bit can actually improve everything quite a bit. Follow these quick hacks to make a sick day not so bad.


When you’re sick, chances are your skin is looking a bit dull and in need of some help. Whatever you have has probably sucked the moisture right out of your skin, so replacing it will bring life back into your entire face. Using a good moisturizer before putting any makeup on is always a good idea, but especially when you’re sick. Slather that hydration all over, especially under your eyes. Use an eye brightener

With sickness often comes dark circles, there’s no denying that. Eye brighteners can do wonders for this problem, take it from someone who uses one every day. Just pat a tiny bit under your eyes and on the inner corners, before concealer, to cancel out that darkness that honestly might scare a few people. Try this one, it’s amazing.


Once again, sickness pulls the life out of your skin. A little bronzer will make your complexion glow, instead of making you look like you’re borderline deceased. Dust on a warm color on the points of your face the sun would naturally hit—your cheeks, forehead and jawline. Make sure it’s blended and you’re good to go.

Drink lots of water

Water is nature’s beauty miracle. Drink as much as you possibly can throughout the day to flush the sickness out of your body, as well as hydrate your body and skin. Not only will you feel better faster, you’ll look like you have some life.

Treat your lips

Don’t skip taking care of your lips while you’re sick. Before moisturizing them or applying lipstick, exfoliate them with a lip scrub to get all of the dead skin cells off (if you don’t have a lip scrub, you can use a washcloth with warm water to gently rub the dead skin away). Keep something moisturizing on them all day, like a balm or lip gloss to ensure they don’t get crusty and gross again.
