With St. Patrick’s Day nearing, it’s time to start practicing your St. Patrick’s Day nail art. Decorating your nails is an easy, fun way to celebrate, and doesn’t require much time. Plus, if your nails are green, you won’t have to technically wear green on St. Patty’s Day. Use the following ideas to get your nails into the Irish spirit! From pots of gold to four-leaf clovers, all while utilizing every shade of green, we’ve got St. Patrick’s Day nail art to strike anyone’s fancy.

Four Leaf Clover

What you’ll need:

  • 1 light green nail polish
  • Acrylic nail paint in white and dark green
  • 1 small paint brush

  1. Paint nails light green. Grab your light green nail polish and paint two coats on all fingers.
  2. Create a circle of hearts. Dip your small paint brush into the dark green acrylic paint. Use the tiny tip to create four mini hearts in a circle shape (think, petals on a flower), leaving a dot of space in the middle. Be sure the hearts do not overlap each other.
  3. Add a stem and define leaves. Next, draw a small curved line down between two of the hearts. This will be your stem. For more detail on the leaves, use the white acrylic paint to add small dashes in the cupid’s bow section of each heart. Add a shiny top coat to give your design a gleaming finish.

Green & Gold Shamrocks

What you’ll need:

  • 1 green nail polish
  • 1 gold nail polish
  • 1 green glitter nail polish
  • 1 nail art pen (if you don’t have a pen, a toothpick or thin make-up brush may be substituted)

  1. Apply two layers of green polish on all fingers except ring finger. Paint ring finger in gold. Without waiting for your nails to dry, proceed to the next step.
  2. Draw a shamrock on your middle finger using nail art pen in gold. To do that, draw three heart-like shapes for leaves, and then from the middle of the shamrock draw the stem.
  3. Repeat step 2 on your ring finger, but invert the color combination by drawing a green shamrock on your gold painted finger.
  4. Apply three coats of glitter on thumb, pointer and little fingers. Finish with two layers of fast-dry top coat on all nails to smooth your nail art. Let them dry.
