There’s been a bit of a battle lately. Some of us girls are matte lovers. While others are fonder of dewy looks. But, some of us like to change it up from day to day. If a dewy look is your cup of tea, even just some of the time, then strobing might just be for you. This “glow-ifying” makeup technique uses iridescent make-ups, which often come in coordinated palettes, to brighten and conceal. You’ll look younger, healthier and like you have just gotten back from a lovely vacation. So, here are a few tips to get you started.

Best Strobing Palettes for Dewy, Radiant Skin

Not even sure where to begin? We’ll get into some more specific suggestions for specific skin types later. But, for now, let’s talk about the basics.

The “Too Faced Natural Face Palette” is the perfect place to start for those of us who are new to the game. The six-piece set will give you the perfect, just from the beach, complexion in no time. You will want to use a small brush to conceal any spots with the concealer and also apply it at the inner corners of your eyes. Then, you will use a brightening concealer under your eyes to get rid of any black circles that you may be suffering with. Dab the cream blush and cream highlighter onto the cheekbones with your fingers. Set it with powder blush and bronzer. Ta da!

For light skin

Fair skin tones will not do well with browns or pinks that are very bright or luminous. You need a pearl-colored highlighter with a pink undertone. Keep as far away as you can from bronzers. Those are never a good choice.

For medium skin tones

Luminizers with a champagne tint are the way to go for medium skin tones. The goldish highlights will bounce off of your skin, which is just a shade or two darker. It will stand out without screaming, “Look at me! I sparkle!”

For golden skin

If your skin is olive, or golden, look for a peachy-gold. Yellow undertones are nicely highlighted by the peach and will give you a natural looking radiance. Keep away from pinks, as they will look harsh and fake. Not a good look.

For dark skin

Darker skinned ladies are in luck when it comes to strobing. Pretty much any color of highlighter that is light or sparkly enough will look amazing on dark skin. If you’re new to strobing, however, you can stick to a rose gold until you get the hang of it. You can absolutely never go wrong with that!

Strobing is the best way to give your face a quick lift of brightness. It’s also a good skill to have when you want to really go all out for an occasion. Keep these tips in mind to get the best shade for strobing on your particular skin tone.
