These Egg White Beauty Recipes Will Revolutionize Your Routine

Turns out egg whites are more than just a tasty, heart-healthy breakfast. Egg whites are a must-have in natural beauty arsenals, thanks to their nourishing protein, which is reputed to tone and increase the elasticity of skin. Below are several egg white beauty recipes that will improve both your hair and skin.

Hair Conditioner

One of the most popular beauty uses for egg whites is as a natural hair conditioner. The protein in egg whites helps strengthen hair. Place about four egg whites in a bowl (you may need to adjust for longer or shorter hair). After washing, saturate your hair in the egg whites and leave them on for 30-60 minutes. For extra nourishment, you can also add dollops of mushed avocado, plain yogurt or coconut oil.

Skin Toner

Egg whites can also work as a natural toner, since they can help shrink large pores. Add a splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice (another natural toner) to one egg white. Apply to the troubled areas, and then rinse the mixture off after 20 minutes.

Anti-Aging

The protein in egg whites delivers some serious age-fighting properties to skin. Combine equal parts egg whites with equal parts raw organic honey (a strong, natural antioxidant) for a mask that is sure to provide a youthful boost. Apply the mixture to your face and leave for about 30 minutes, and then rinse well. Try to do this a couple times a week.

Zap Facial Hair

Bet you didn’t know egg whites could work as a more gentile form of waxing. Simply paint some egg whites onto your skin with a makeup brush. Place a paper towel over the troubled areas, and paint some more egg whites over that. Let the whole area dry, and then quickly rip off the paper towel. Your facial hair should be gone.

Get Rid Of Stretch Marks

Egg whites can also help erase stretch marks, thanks to the protein they pack. Simply combine an egg white with a tablespoon of coconut oil (for moisture), and rub the troubled areas with the mixture for several minutes. Let the mixture sit for another 15 minutes, and then rinse. Repeat until you see the desired result.

Goodbye Dark Circles

Sporting panda eyes? Simply separate out the egg white from a single egg, and add a small splash of lemon juice. Dab the egg white mixture onto the troubled areas and leave until it hardens, or for 30 minutes. You should notice a lightening effect and some toning. Reapply daily for greater lightening effects.
